Cycling is more environmentally friendly than other forms of transport. Why is it not popular in many places? And how to increase its popularity?

It’s true to say that  bicycle is a kind of transportation means which releases no emissions to environment. Therefore, some people do think that it is more friendly  to environment than other vehicles so that they tend to use bikes instead of using any kind of transport. However, In some countries,  cycling is unpopular due to some reasons. In this essay, I am going to explore it and seek some wise solutions to rise the rate of  bike use.

Although bicycles are considered one of the most environmental friendly means, people in some countries are likely to not like use it for their travel. Perhaps, in their countries, it remains a variety  of such different transportation means as: cars, airlines, underground rails … which are more convenient for their far-off travel so that they may feel exhausted to spend their time and strength on riding bikes. However, for people who travel in short distance, they are also not fond of cycling due to its unconvenience. For example, instead of bringing  umbrella or raincoat with them in case of rain, some means like cars may help them deal with unpredictable weather condition during their travel.

 

It’s not difficult to increase the numbers of people using bikes in frequency. The best way to do that is which the harsh boost in fuel and petrol price. The more petrol price increase sharply, the more people limit their use of cars or public transports which require a large mount of petrol. As a result, they may start using bicycles to fulfill their  travelling demand in near distance. Moreover, we should include some videos, pictures about road traffic accidents caused by cars or motobikes  into programs or ads on TV to encourage people to use human-safer means like bikes.

Though cycling has both advantages and disadvantages, we, as far as I think, ought to use bikes for our travel to protect the Earth facing serious pollution .
