Write about the following topic:

More and more people claim that modern work patterns are a source of stress. what do you think are the causes of this? Can you suggest some possible solutions?

My essay:

Several people state that their tension is caused by current working models. In this essay, I intend to explore the sources of this problem along with some possible solutions to it.

Chief among the causes of this issue is the work complexity. Specifically, due to the fast development of technology, employees nowadays are required to do more compound tasks which computers can not handle than they did in the past. Consequently, the fear of getting sack makes them feel stressed. An effective measure is for employers to encourage their workers to relax after straining working hours. For example, in some companies, gym facilities or massage therapies are available, which will improve workers’ efficiency and production.

Moreover, another contributing factor is the labour’s passivity. Although people have spent many hours sitting in front of the screen to finish work, they do not take any physical exercise to refresh their mind. As a result, they indeliberately put more pressure on themselves when working at the office. In order to resolve this sense of laziness, companies should equip their buildings with fewer elevators so that people can walk and climb the staircases a lot. Besides, playing with their children is a good way to lessen their exhaustion. For instance, a recent research has shown that the more time parents spend with their kids, the happier they will feel, and therefore they can get enough energy to work hard without tiring.

In conclusion, I believe that the work stress in the modern world is such a difficulty that no solution is likely in the short-term. However, it is possible that measures outlined above would constitue a good first step.
