Hello, in this programs, we're going to be looking at the influence Britain and the English language has had on four different countries Canada, Australia, South Africa and India. From the 15th, the European explorers and traders begin to explore the globe. The British as well as the Spanish and the French went to lots of distant countries in search of product to trade and to expand their empires. However, by the middle of the 19th century, it was Britain that was the dominant power in a large part of the world. When the British left their countries, they left behind them system of communicate goverment but perhaps the most importantly. The English language, English is the first language in Australia and it's the dominant language in Canada and South Africa. It is the language of politics and business in Canada, South Africa, Australia and India. We're going to look at what those countries are like today. We're going to look at what young people do in India and which sports the Canadians love to play, will see the rainbow nation of South Africa from apartheid and we'll be looking at one of the most popular places to start a new life. Australia, the program deal with one country at a time.
