Topic: As well as making money, businesses also have social responsibilities. Do you agree or disagree?

It is sometimes argued that corporations should not only focus on making money but they also contribute to the development of the community. Personally, I completely agree with the idea that both of the aspects are equally important and they are not in conflict with each other.

To begin with, businesses should make commitment to the society because of two main reasons. Firstly, failing to acknowledge the social responsibilities is unethical and sometimes unlawful of many businessmen. Another reason is that they must make contribution to the sustainable development of the environment, as well as the wellbeing of others. For instance, businesses should pay for punishments because of regulations on heavy pollution industry such as global warming from factory emissions and responsible disposalnof waste. By doing these, they will build positive reputation and strengthen the social bond.

Wtih the higher social responsibilities taken, businesses which make money can be expanded by more recognition of society and more opportunities for the companies. This is clearly shown by the fact that Apple and Google, two biggest global groups, provide donations every year for schools and other programs namely offering study or employment oppotunities for young graduates. Consequently, it is a great action in order to advertise their companies and attact more co-operations and investments for their corporations's projects.

Conclusion, although I recognise that making profit is basic principle of businesses, I would argue that all businesses should have a part in the sustainable development of the society and the environment.
