Topic: Some people think that all university students should study whatever they like. Others believe that they should only be allowed to study subjects that will be useful in the future, such as those related to science and technology. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

An issue attracting the attention of numerous people is the subjects in the curriculum of tertiary education. Several citizens believe that all university learners should be instilled insights into whichever subjects they want; while others feel that fields which are applicable in the foreseeable future should be mandated. From my point of view, students ought to learn the area of expertise they desire because of potential developments and the maintanence of a balanced society.

First, there is a profusion of arguments advocating teaching useful subjects in the future. It is generally accepted that science and technology are two of the most popular fields nowadays. In particular, numerous seniors are endeavouring to learn subjects that are in connection with these areas of expertise in order to catch up with the current trend. Moreover, a large number of scientific and technological breakthroughs such as iOS products and astronomical developments results in the increase in the university students number gaining ambition of leaning so as to achieve outstanding success in life. Accordingly, this could lead to the enhancement in those advantageous subjects in higher education.

Nonetheless, there are numerous individuals agreeing to let freshmen learn what fields they think are suitable. It is commonly agreed that working in the right area of expertise will catalyze the optimistic future for learners. To be more specific, higher learners are likely to feel better and more comfortable to study without reluctance triggered by strict parental orientation. In fact, numerous families coerce their adolescents to learn subjects that relate to the paternal occupation or help to gain a high salary in future career. Consequently, university students seem to be unable to reach their full potential.

Another vital root of this viewpoint is that the society should be balanced. Indeed, on account of following the trend in studying practical area of expertise, there is a huge lack of employees in some fields. Furthermore, a considerable number of seniors are desiring to learn prominent subjects reluctantly only for the purpose of gaining high salary or getting promotion. Therefore, this may bring about the imbalance of jobs in the foreseeable future.

All things considered, both sides of the dispute prove to be plausible to some extent, but my belief is that university learners should be taught the area of expertise they are interested in. One possible offer is to instil both useful subjects linked to science and technology and the fields that seniors like with a view not only to developing full potential but also avoiding unemployment.
