In the modern days, more and more people have their own cars and the high volume of vehicles involve in traffic can cause of congestion and pollution problems and rising gasoline’s price is one of methods to handle these issues. However, there are different opinions relate to these ones.
On the one hand, reducing the price of fuel is a good way to decrease the number of transportation. It means people tend to us the public transport system instead of the private one because they do not want to spend much money in petrol. Moreover, changing to use bus or subway not only help them saving but also decline the amount of emission from vehicle, which is the cause of environment contamination and greenhouse effect.
On the other hand, using this way is not always the best solution because it might lead to other problems typically is inflation in economics. In developing country, population likes to use their own cars, or motorbikes since the public transport systems have not completed yet. It can be seen that the increasing in the price of gasoline might lead to the rising of transport freights and the inflation is unavoidable due to growing of consumption prices.
However, there are other solutions to control these problems. Government might limit the number of vehicle moving in the street by issuing stricter laws. One example from Indonesia, a car only allow to join in the traffic if it contained more than 3 people, otherwise the drier will be fined huge amount of money. This law can help to reduce the number of transportation because people will chose to share the transport. Besides, authority should invest on modern public transportation system like: train, subway, to encourage city dwellers using.
In conclusion, there are many ways to settle the growing of pollution and traffic problems. Increasing the fuel’s price is not always the best one.
