People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experiences, career preparation, increased knowledge). Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer
Universities have a extremely important role in our life. Almost all professionals in many fields that changed the life of human learned at universities. Nowadays, the number of people attending universities rises increasingly with several different reasons. In my opinion, two main reasons attracting people go to univeristy are career preparation and independent life experience.
Firstly, many people attend universities to prepare for their future career. Indeed, universities provide not only professional knowledge and skills that future jobs require, but also equipment to acquire them efficiently for students. For example, if I want to become a doctor, I will study at medical university and practice at university hospitals because I will be educated about medicine by the best medical professors, given the best medical materials and had the best laboratories to research, and practiced in which like where I’ll do in the future. Likewise, if I want to become a lawyer, nowhere is better than a law university.
Moreover, a quite of few people especially graduated students attend university to gain new valuable experiences. At university, you must learn how to handle many kinds of trouble like finance troubles, health problems or studying problems,... by yourself. This helps you live more independently. Simultaneously, you can join clubs in university, volunteer programs or do part-time jobs to enrich your background knowledge, make you more confident as well. All of activities are really interesting and help you so much in the future life. For instance, my major is banking but now I’m a teacher and working for a NGO. I found my passion when I was joining a volunteer project with a task is helping children in a poor rural community have basic literacy skills. Projects like that have taught me many things like building a project, managing time and pedagogical skills,… that necessary for my job now.
In conclusion, people attending college are attracted by many things and above all, preparation of a future job and campus experiences are most popular ones.
