News is a source of knowledge about the world. How much can we trust the journalists? What are the qualities a good journalist should have?

There is a fact that thousands of people read newspaper or watch TV for the breaking news every day to update the information and events happening in the world. Although most of the knowledge of human beings is broadcast via mass media, I believe that not all information is reliable; and some qualities should be required for a true pressman.

Firstly, people who approach a source of information had better think critically before trusting the content of the piece of writing. In some tabloids, the writers exploit the common topics like celebrities and scandals but without any political issues or any up-to-date socio-economic state. It is usual for the authors to insert their personal ideas, which navigates the audience’s thought in the way they expect. Moreover, several journalists are forced to make up the stories, not the truth. Therefore, the foremost thing the audience should do is to choose the trustworthy   information to obtain.

With above problems, a number of qualities should be trained to the journalists before they actually enter the Media and communication occupation. Responsibility can be treated as the most fundamental one which requires the authors to be accountable for what they wrote. Additionally, if the correspondents are not brave enough to express their opinions exactly, they may be asked to write something wrong. Finally, the hunger for creating the great media will make a successful pressman. This characteristic will motivate the journalists to overcome all difficulties during their career path and bring the good quality products to the mass audience.

In conclusion, although the news broaden our knowledge, it is essential for the viewers to thoughtfully consider about its trustworthiness. Therefore, responsibility, bravery and enthusiasm are crucial qualities of a true correspondent at any ages.

  1. Introduction:
  • “the breaking news” -> “breaking news”
  • “the information and events” -> “the information about events”
  • “is broadcast” -> “is being broadcasted”
  • Comments: You should add one more sentence in this paragraph. Although the number of 2 sentences is ideal for the introduction, your introduction seems to be lack of logic between the 1st sentence and the 2nd one.
  1. 1st argument:
  • “exploit” -> “exaggerate”
  • “but without” -> “instead of”
  • “navigates audience’s thought in the they expect” -> “navigates the audiences’ thoughts in the way authors expect” OR “creates false concepts in audiences ‘ minds.
  • Comments: explain why journalists do such things like not writing the truth or making up stories. Plus, what does it take to be trustworthy news? Take an example of Vnexpress.
  1. 2nd argument:
  • “should be trained to the journalists” -> “which a journalist should have” (Notes: quality IS not trained, only skills are trained for employees)
  • “Media and communication occupation” -> “ media and communication occupations”
  • “can be treated as” -> “can be regarded as” (Note: I think ‘regard’ is more suitable in this situation.)
  • “for what they wrote” -> “for what they write”
  •  “This characteristic” -> “These characteristics”
  1. Conclusion:
  • Comment: your conclusion is brief and very concise. However, I suggest you add one more sentence to clear yourself out. You can add 1 more sentence before the last one. My suggestion is: As the matter of fact, information can be easily processed in many different ways by no one but journalists.
