Question

The pie charts show changes in American spending patterns between 1966 and 1996

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

• You should write at least 150 words.

• You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

Answer:

The pie charts illustrate changes of people live in America spending items in 1966 and 1996.

At first glance it is clear that having two main areas changing these graphs were food and cars.

Spending on cars accounted for 23 per cent of citizen in 1966 and this figure doubled in 1996, at 45 per cent. Another major item changing in American was food with over a third in 1966. However, interestingly, expenditure of food was only a small minority in 1996, at 14%.

The proportion of computers increased dramatically, up from 1% in 1966 to 10% in 1996. Also, spending on eating out double, climbing from 7% to 14%.However, the percentage of outlay on books fell from 6% to 1%. Some areas remained relatively unchanged. American spent approximately the same amount of salary on petro and furniture in both years.

Vì là pie chart nên bạn nên sử dụng các cụmt ừ như "make up, consist of, constitute, comprise, record, account for, amount to, stand at".....
