Task 2 (Actual test 04/3/2021): Today many countries import food from different parts of the world. Is this a positive or negative development?

In today’s world, due to the industrialization and modernlization, imported food’s consumption in various parts of the world has been flourishing more than ever before. In my opinion, I firmly believe that this development would bring an abundance of benefits to human being.

First and foremost, it is clear that the import and export of food materials provides a superior experience for customers to taste exotic food and cuisines. Some fruits and vegetable, indeed, can only be grown in specific regions and climate. Thanks to imported food, we can enjoy food delicacies over the world no matter where we are. For instance, cherries can not be produced in Vietnam, but all Vietnameses can still enjoy the fruit all year around by imported them. Moreover, this trend also helps to balance the supply and demand for food between countries around the world; gives the poor, developing countries an opportunity to earn foreign exchange by selling their rare products to others.

Another merit that should be taken into consideration is that authentic imported food always ensures food safety and hygiene according to international standards. Because the resulting intake of toxic preservatives included in these products are long-term risk factors in respiratory disorders and some types of cancer. In addition, recent research carried out by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health indicates that minor health symptoms such as stomach upset and vomiting are directly connected to the consumption of beef products imported and incorrectly processed in China.

In conclusion, it seems that imported food show a positive influence on human being in both national economic and personal health.
