Experiencing different cultures from other countries has become increasingly popular nowadays. While I agree that travelling to those countries can broaden visitors’ horizon about their cultures, I believe that learning a culture through other sources such as the internet, books or movies is effective.

On the one hand, visitors enrich their knowledge about foreign cultures through their overseas trips for three reasons. First, when paying a visit to historical or cultural attractions, they have further understanding about the country’s cultures. Secondly, they can expand their knowledge about the culture if they experience local cuisine and meet local people. Finally, foreign tourists can also have a chance to learn and practice the language of countries they visit.

On the other hand, not all visitors can afford an overseas trip to experience its culture; therefore, learning from books, films or the internet can be a great choice. By dint of the development of technology, it’s becoming much easier to gather information or even carry out a cultural research of a country on the internet. Furthermore, movies or books reflect their countries’ cultures . A typical example would be Chinese movies. a great variety of Chinese films feature kungfu or martial arts scenes; as a result, we can learn that they are cultural identities in China.

In conclusion, it seems to me that it would be beneficial for learning a country’s culture by travelling to the country. However, if an overseas trips is beyond one’s reach, learning through books, movies or the internet can be effective as well.
