It is widely believed that people more tend to rest on their laurels than learn something from success. Instead, most people being successful in certain fields prefer learning from suffering failure. In this essay, I am going to explain why I do agree with this statement and give my own opinion.
Firstly, we humans are more likely to be strongly obsessed with our mistakes than the achievements we obtain. For instance, students who have exams with flying colours for the first time will be easily relegated to the next examination. However, some whose results are contradictory to the first group, tend to correct their mistakes by moving from earth to heaven to get high scores. Thus, failure has very important meanings in awakening people’s consciousness to not repeat the old mistakes and to avoid the feasibility of bad choices in the future. Therefrom, each individual can draw for themselves not also invaluable lessons but experiences as well that once you live in delusions of success, you are holding yourself back from moving forward.
Secondly, being better and better at learning others’ drawbacks certainly is the fastest and the most effective way to boost your career or study path. Particularly in fashion style, for examples, when I see someone putting on an out of fashion clothing, I promise myself that I will never wear the same style as hers or from her failure I can innovate this clothing with a whole new style. On the one hand, we can not negate that it is too tough for us to imitate to be as successful as others. Instead, avoiding the mistakes which they made will be an easier way to improve ourselves. Moreover, each individual also has chances to reflect on themselves, being a person with understanding and experience.
To conclude, I believe that failure gives us a powerful motivation to help people overcome every obstacle in life. Therefore, people are more likely to learn from failure than success.
