On the one hand, there are several reasons why university students should be forced to learn subjects relating to science and technology. One of them is that they are believed to play an essential role in later life, especially for students’ future. In the other words, learners are likely to have a number of opportunities to land for high-salary jobs in reputative corporations with a valuable qualification as well as seizing chances of promotion; as a result, they could enhance their living standard, particularly, covering their exorbitant expenses such as house pricing, transport, and even foods. Furthermore, studying these domains is believed to be a hinge on helping learners to cooperate with potentially domestic partners as well as overseas ones. Vietnam is as a typical example. There are an increasing number of individuals studying IT because it is a promised field which generates a chance to integrate into the international job market. This could exert a fundamental role in shortening the distance between countries and stimulating economic development.
On the other hand, I have a tendency to side up with the statement that students should be free to choose the area of study they are into. Because of the fact that not every single person is accomplished at core subjects namely maths, physics or chemistry, it finds hard to follow and understand these. If most colleges and universities only concentrated on science and technology, learners would lack opportunities to pursue dreams of their own and showcase their talents from such a young age. By placing an equal emphasis on all college subjects, the gifted can nurture their abilities and grow to reach their full potential. In addition, if students were only trained to become scientists or engineers, they would not be able to get acquainted with new fields easily and ignite their imagination and creativity, which are highly-valued skills in modern life.
In conclusion, there are reasons to support subjects relating to scientific and technological domains; nevertheless, i believe that one should seize the opportunity to study in which they are interested.
