The chart illustrates the proportions of Australian males and females in 6 age categories who did physical activity on a regular basis.

It is noticeable that almost half of the Australian poplulation did some forms of physical activity in 2010. Overall, men in 35 to 44 age group were the least physically active (39.5%)while middle age women did physical exercises most frequently ( 53.3%). 
In the youngest age group ( 15 to 24) , the percentage of physically active men was 52.8 % , slightly higher than that of women ( 47.7%) whereas the proportion of males who usually did physical activity in the 35 to 44 age categories was considerably lower than the one of females in this group , at  39.5% and 52.5% respectively.
The age group between 45 and 64 saw a decline in the proportion of women who took regular exercises , from 53.3% to 53% while the figures for men rose by 2 % . Finally , in the oldest age categories (64 and over) , the percentages of active men and women remained at the approximately same level, at about 47%.
