Birth rates of China and the USA

The given line chart demonstrates the differences in child born trends of China and the USA over the 80 years period from 1920 to 2000.

From an overall perspective, both nations witnessed a declined trend in terms of the birth rates over the period of 80 years.

Firstly, in 1920, the child born percentage of both nations were fairly similar to each other, in particular, the birth rates of the USA was 10%, while China held roughly 11%. After this year, the percentage of birth rates in both countries fluctuated wildly, ultimatly decresed to 5% in 1945. However, 5 years later, the propotion of child born rates in both countries rose dramatically, in particular, 10% higher in the USA and 15% higher in China.

According to the shown chart, after 1950, there were downward trends in both nations. The propotion of child born in the USA fell dramatically by 17%, from 20% to roughly 3% over the 30 years period. While China saw a more controlled decrease in term of birth rates, fell by 8% over the same period of time. Futhermore, since 1950. the pecentage of birth rates in China was quite higher than that of the USA. However, after 1980, the trends seem to fluctuated moderately, finally remain fairly the same propotion to 1985's figure.
