Topic: People think government should increase the cost of fuel for cars and other vehicles to solve environmental problems. Give your opinion

Residents argue that governments should push up the price of fuel for some means of traffic such as cars and other vehicles to resolve environmental problems. I do not entirely deny this view. However, I find myself more convinced of the fact that the state should research some more long-term and effective solutions rather than only increasing the cost of petroleum.

On the one hand, there is no arguing that the price of fossil fuel is regarded as a vital factor in the number of vehicles taken part in the traffic, as a result, the leader of a nation will boost the price to address the ecosystem crisis. The petroleum price can restrict the volume of traffic with a purpose, declining exhaust fumes, including carbon dioxide and toxic gas. For example, in the US, the tax of price of petroleum significant increase year-on-year, this makes citizens must limit to pay a visit to distant places by fuel-based vehicles. In addition, this policy also encourages citizens to use renewable energy for transport such as electronic cars or even bicycles.

On the other hand, governments should allocate their resources to discovering other effective measures. First and foremost, state subsidies should invest in researching renewable sources instead of the dependence on fossil fuel. In particular, in Europe, offshore wind farms have been constructed to provide for their energy needs in many different fields. Second, if officials in a nation invest a large amount of money into universities or institutions, this could support scientists to invent some bio-degradable materials. Finally, corporations, plants or even small-scale manufacturing establishments must mainly responsible for paying for environmental damages and be supervised by the state.

In conclusion, although the policy raising price of petroleum can also bring several certain benefits to reduce natural destruction problems through cutting back on carbon emission, I argue that there are some more environmentally friendly measures that should be adopted by the state.
