Some people believe that the development of artificial intelligence will make human labour obsolete. Other think that work performed by humans will always be important.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

With the proliferation of technology, robots have gradually substituted the role of human beings, which meant that made work performed by humans seems to be dated. However, I presume that humans should not be entirely dependent upon robots since they would not be able to perform at the same level at humans in most occupations.

On the one hand, the development of artificial intelligence enables robotic machines and computers to carry out the work efficiently, accurately and generate more income for the business. Consequently, the companies, factories, and other workplaces tend to take advantage of the robotic workforce instead of recruiting more employees, which lead to the obsolescence of human labor. According to the statistics, one major automobile company, for instance, was able to increase its productivity by replacing workers with automated machines. Specifically, these machines were capable of operating perpetually at higher speeds compared to humans, so this company cut down on the production time significantly and the cost of manufacturing by 25 percent, resulting in considerable growth in profits.
On the other hand, undoubtedly, there are myriad tasks that robots could not do as well as human beings, so humans still play a fundamental part in the workforce. The ability of machines to match or exceed the efficiency is currently limited to some particular professions. Take the example for the job which requires humans' creativity, like designers, artists and so on, no matter how complicated the robots are, hardly could they create a new idea by themselves. Furthermore, robots would be likely to only be used under the supervision of humans who could step in if something went wrong.
To sum up, while it is self-evident that artificial intelligence has achieved a breakthrough in all the fields, it is indisputable that robots will not able to completely supersede human beings.
