Nowadays celebrities are more famous for their glamour and wealth than for their achievements, and this sets a bad example to young people. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

It is true that some celebrities are well-known for their glamorous lifestyles than for their glamorous lifestyles than their success. While I agree that this can set a good examples for youngsters, famous people also have positive influence on young people.

On the one hand,  may celibrities become famous without really working hard for it. They may have inherited money from their parents or married famous  and  weathy person. Some of them have taken advantages of scandals to appear in gossip magazine or on reality TV programmes. A good example would be Ngoc Trinh model, who gain her reputation for wrong reasons. She gets involved in many bad rumours such as lying to the public or having love relationship with millionaires to promote her images. This can exert an negative impacts on impressionable people like teenagers as they have tendency of imitating their idol’s behaviour and misunderstand that success can be achieved easily and hard work  are unnecessary.

On the other hand, there  are at least as many celebrities whose accomplishments can be a good exemplary for young people. They always demonstrate their great efforts, perseverance and determination in the  face of difficulties and reach their goal successfully. For instance, Jacki Chan had to experience constantly exhausting work and practise before becoming a world famous actor and martial art.  This kind of self- made celebrities inspire teenagers about their ambition and persistence through obstacles.

In conclusion, despite  bad effects on teenagers mentioned above, I still believe that youngsters can gain valuable lessons and good characters from reputable celebrities.
