The line graph shows the number of American consumption of beef, pork, broilers and turkey per person from 1995 to 2012.

It is clear that beef was the most popular meat products for over the 57 year period. However, a significant increase can be seen in the per capita consumption of broilers.

Between 1955 and 1976, there was a enormous rise in US beef consumption from nearly 60 pounds to a peak of 90 pounds per person. While the figures for pork fluctuated between 50 to 40 pounds per person, per capita consumption of broilers grew up considerably to around 30 pounds. Turkey was by far the least popular meat, with figures below 10 pounds per capita each year

From 1976 to 2012, the amount of beef bought by American consumers plunged to around 50 pounds, but the consumption of broilers doubled to approximately 55 pounds. By contrast, pork and turkey consumption were static at this time.
