An often debated topic is whether it is better to study with friends or to learn on their own. While I accept that students can self study for a number of benefits, I also believe that teamwork should be recommended as a better learning method.

On the one hand, self study is beneficial to students to some extent. Primarily, as students study by themselves, learning time is unlimited. This means that they can learn after their meals, while waiting the bus or even stay up all night for learning as long as they feel comfortable. Thus, the more time people spend on practicing, the better result they can obtain. Additionally, studying separately is an assist for students to find them suited to a best knowledge approach. For example, there are various ways for each student to learn by heart effectively a history lesson; some prefer reading out loud a text, others try to note down key words several times in order to memorize them. In contrast, if learning with friends, they all have to opt for one way to learn lessons together.

On the other hand, I would argue that students should better gather round to support each other to study. By learning in a group, they can elucidate to one another about unclear ideas and check mistakes for each other, which lead to a full understanding of knowledge. For example, my classmates and I frequently gather together revising lessons before examinations and consequently we all have good academic performance in class. Another positive effect is that your peers can encourage you to keep completing adequate exercises, and you may be placed in humiliating situations if you are indolent.

In conclusion, it seems to me that both those learning ways have undeniable advantages , students should combine them to get the best result.

An often debated topic is whether it is better to study with friends or to learn on their own. While I accept that students can self study(1) for a number of benefits, I also believe that teamwork should be recommended as a better learning method.

On the one hand, self study(1) is beneficial to students to some extent. Primarily, as students study by themselves, learning time is(2) unlimited. This means that they can learn after their meals, while waiting the bus or even stay up all night for learning as long as they feel comfortable(3). Thus, the more time people spend on practicing, the better result they can obtain. Additionally, studying separately is(2) an assist for students to find them suited to a best knowledge approach. For example, there are various ways for each student to learn by heart effectively a history lesson; some prefer reading out loud a text, others try to note down key words several times in order to memorize them. In contrast, if learning with friends, they all(2) have to opt for one way to learn lessons together.

(1): self-study

(2): cautious language (probably, possibly, etc). Bạn nên sử dụng từ ngữ thận trọng bởi những gì bạn nói không phải là fact.

(3) parallelism mistake: Bạn khi liệt kê một series, thì cấu trúc ngữ pháp của các item phải đồng nhất.

=>This means that they can learn after their meals, while they are waiting for the bus, or even they can stay up all night learning. (a series of clauses)

=> This means that they can learn after their meals, while waiting for the bus, or staying up all night. (a series of phrases)

On the other hand, I would argue that students should better gather round to support each other to study. By learning in a group, they can elucidate to one another about unclear ideas and check mistakes for each other, which lead(2) to a full understanding of knowledge. For example, my classmates and I frequently gather together revising lessons before examinations(4) and consequently(5) we all have good academic performance in class. Another positive effect is that your peers can encourage you to keep completing adequate exercises, and(6) you may be placed in humiliating situations if you are indolent.

(4): Thiếu dấu phẩy trước “and”, bởi đây là compound sentence.

(5): Thiếu dấu phẩy sau trạng từ “consequently”.

(6): Câu này của bạn mình nghĩ liên kết giữa hai vế về mặt ý nghĩa thì nên thay “and” bằng “as” hay “because”.

In conclusion, it seems to me that both those learning ways have undeniable advantages ,(7) students should combine them to get the best result.

(7): Bạn nên thay dấu phẩy bằng dấu chấm phẩy để nối hai mệnh đề, hoặc thêm coordinators vào sau dấy phẩy (so).
