Nowadays, environmental degradation is taking place all around the world --> around the world/ all over the world/ throughout the world at an alarming rate --> level. While some are of the opinion that the problems will not be stopped without governments’ involvement, I believe that each individuals --> individual can make changes to current issues.
It is true that some environmental issues are too big for individuals to solve. For example, serious problems like global warming, natural disasters require special equipment and cooperation between politicians and environmentalists to be accurately addressed. Base on that, scientists carry out further researches which takes years to collect output and analyze the results. Therefore, those long-term experiments cost a lot and only the governments have sufficient fund and resources to invest in.
However, there are many actions which an individual can take up to help reduce environmental problems. First, --> Firstly, instead of driving a car, people can take public transport or ride a bike or walk to the working, which would help reducing carbon emissions and eventually lead to pollution reduction. Second --> Secondly, they can establish campaigns or join in voluntary communities that help minise --> minimise pollutions’ impacts. For example, those voluntary groups encourage people to take part in activities like Earth Hour. Earth Hour is one of the most famous events around the world that participants turn off all thier --> their lights in order to reduce human’s impacts on the environment. Third, --> Finally, sorting out and reusing papers can decrease deforestation rate which responsible for huge carbon emissions causing climate change.
In conclusion, environmental problems can be tackled effectively cooperation between governments. However, it is still our citizens’ duties --> duty to be responsible for environmental damage and take definite --> proper actions.
