The graph illustrates the rates of birth between two countries namely American and China, from 1920 to 2000. There was a fluctuation over this period and both of them reached the highest point in 1950.

There was a slight increase in China's birth rates, from 10% in 1920 to 15% in 1935. The birth rate in China went down and remained stable at 5% in 1940 before it suddenly rose by 15% in 1950. From 1950 to 2000, it was a significant decline to approximately 3% in 2000.

USA's birth rates showed a slight variation over 20 years, from 1920 to 1940 with 10%. Then, the rates of American birth fell sharply to 5% in 1945, hit the lowest point. However, in 1950, there was a significant increase to 15%, which was its highest point. Over the next year, the figure for USA's rates declined gradually, around 7% by the year 2000.
