In modern society, many schools are motivating students to maintain a balance between their study and physical education. Scientifically these activities have been proven to be as important as doing school work. This essay will argue that the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages.

It can be said that physical education has some noteworthy positive effects on students. Firstly, it teaches students the importance of physical health. High school is an age when students misinterpret the meaning of “overweight” and eat an imbalanced diet. Physical education informs student on sound eating practices and the essential guidelines for nutrition. Secondly, playing sports in terms helps pupils to cooperate with other members and improve their teamwork and leadership skills. Furthermore, physical education can make pupils relieve stress and anxiety. Today, students have amount of stress due to curriculum, homework, family and peer pressure. Therefore, recreational activities offer a method of reducing stress.

However, physical education is not completely beneficial; there are some negative aspects that should be taken in consideration. When playing sports too much, children will not equalize between relaxing and learning time. This will lead to the result that they neglect their academic tasks, then they can get bad marks. Moreover, when learning physical lessons in hot or cold weather, they can get some diseases like sunstroke, cold, ….

In conclusion, while physical education may have some positive aspects, I believe they are outweighed by the more significant negative effects. Students should have better supervision and receive advices from family and teachers so that they will arrange the time for their courses and amusement.
