Some people think that we would learn about other cultures from books, films, and the internet rather than travel to other locations. In my opinion, I totally disagree with this view.
For some reason, it would be wrong to discover our world only via the computer’s screen or documents. Firstly, it is undeniable that these information sources are reliable, but it could be obsolete due to some causes. For example, some things could be changed in the real-life, but the film and the book have been finished a long time ago, so the viewer might be confused about the accuracy of information which they have been received. Secondly, I believe that learning always goes together with exploring. It is clear that people could remember knowledge in documents, but they would forget them gradually if they do not have their own experiences in reality.
As widely known, traveling is a useful method to receive knowledge for almost all individuals. Obviously, the sedentary lifestyle may harm our mental health in various ways, so it is better to be a dynamic person instead of being a bookworm. In fact, moving to famous locations, visiting historical areas always provide more benefits to people than study via textbooks. Humans tend to remember things that are special such as unexpected events or beautiful scenes because simple things could not attract them. Therefore, it would be great to break our limitations by going around the world, traveling interesting destinations, and meeting more citizens.
In conclusion, there are a lot of solutions to learn about other cultures, but I hold the belief that it is necessary to travel to different areas to gain more knowledge.
