It is considered that social isolation has resulted from social networking and the ways people communicate on the Internet. In my opinion, I totally approve of this idea to some extent.

On the one hand, a huge number of people access online websites and talk together through messages these days, which causes separation from social relationships. Firstly, many people have restricted to talking face to face, therefore, they can increase the feeling of loneliness and depression. The amount of time we spend talking together is less than we used to in the past. For instance, wasting a lot of time surfing the Net is creating a gap between children and parents. Together with the growth of smart mobile devices, children have little time to interact with their parents. Secondly, social media can provide the reduction of intimacy. Instead of sharing each other about emotions, they may post their status on Facebook or Twister for example, hence personal relationships can be easily faded.

I do believe that either social networking or online social communication leads to psychological problems. First, children can easily get autism by dint of less communicating with others. According to some recent research, children having habitat of abusing social network sites will reduce communication competence rather than others do not. Therefore, they are likely to catch a mental condition in which they find it difficult to communicate with others. Second, it is unavoidable for students to lack personal skills. It is revealed that if you want to gain any skill, you have to practice regularly. As immersing in kill-time, you gradually decrease communication skill.

To sum up, both distraction from social relationships and mental issues result from consuming time social networking and online communication.
