THE GRAPH SHOWS THE UNEMPLOYMENT RATES IN THE US AND JAPAN BETWEEN MARCH 1993 AND MARCH 1999.

                  The line graph provided illustrates data concerning the percentage of unemployment in two countries, the United States and Japan, over a period from March 1993 to March 1999.

                     As can be seen from the graph, The US experienced a remarkable decline while Japan witnessed a wild increase in the unemployment rate during the given time scale.

                 Starting at 2.5% in March 1993, the figure for Japan then rocketed to around 3.75% one year later. This was followed by a period of constant growth, with the rate reaching a peak of over 5.0% in 1998, before falling slightly to finish the period at five percent in March 1999.

                Meanwhile, a staggering 7.0% was the starting point of the US's rate in March 1993. However, the following years marked a period of dramatic decrease in the percentage of workforce in the US, before seeing a low of just 5.0% in March 1999, the same finishing point as Japan.
