Question:

Most medical doctors want to work in cities where they will make a lot of money. Yet in many rural areas there are not enough doctors. What are the reasons for this problem? How can it be solved?

It is very likely that a large proportion of physicians prefer urban to rural areas when it comes to where to work because of better income in big cities. This situation is rather obvious, given the infrastructural  and salary differences between  towns and country. Therefore, it is necessary that government bridge the gaps of these places and provide more benefits for those choosing to set their employment in remote areas.

Firstly, modern facilities in cities compared to poor living conditions in rural areas can be the reasons for practitioners' decision not to live there. Furthermore, as regard to economic perspectives, it is easier to start a clinic and earn some money from city dwellers who are financially affluent than farmers who only make their ends meet. Therefore, in both living environment and economic effects, cities seem to be a wiser selection.

To solve the problems, it is definitely essential that the differences between urban and rural areas be shortened and more beneficial payment be applied to those working in the country. When remote areas are modernized together with more technological improvement, they will bring convenience and pleasure to every aspect of life. As a result, people including doctors will look as it as a worthy place to settle down. Moreover, to encourage employees, especially intellectual workers like physicians, a better-paid salary legislation need to be imposed in order to compensate for poorer working conditions in  those areas.

In conclusion, it seems to be clear that better living conditions and better income lead to insufficiency of doctors in rural areas. Thus, governments should improve infrastructure of the country and raise salary of those working in remote areas to deal with the problems.
