Topic :Some people advocate death penalties for those who committed violent crimes. Others say that capital punishment is unacceptable in contemporary society.  Describe the advantages and disadvantages of the death penalty and give your opinion

ESSAY:

While some people think violent criminals should be adjudged with the death penalty, others say it is too harsh in this contemporary society. This essay will examine the merits and the downsides of the phenomenon and provide a personal perspective.

The outstanding benefit of capital punishment is that it acts as a crime deterrent. Judicial murder can help people raise awareness of the consequences. As a result, people will think twice and the crime rate will be brought down. According to the research of Anthasias University, after execution enact in 1997, the crime rates in Cuba have steadily declined and as of 2015, it is the lowest since 1976. This kind of punishment brings us several benefits but disadvantages also.

However, innocent people can somehow be wrongly convicted. This kind of case makes people desperate because it is too late to take it back. An initial case is Cameron Todd Willingham, he was death sentenced in 1989 for burning the house that caused the death of his three daughters. Notwithstanding further investigation revealed that he did not set the fire that led to their death. From this example, we can see dead warrants can also create tragedies.

From my viewpoint, the death penalty shouldn’t be completely forbidden. It can only be used in just some serious cases in which imprisonment can’t appease the sufferings of victims.

An initial case is Cameron Todd Willingham,-> For instance, Cameron Todd Willingham's death was a remarkable example. He was death sentenced -> sentenced to death in 1989 for burning the house, that caused the death of his three daughters. -> causing his three daughters' death. Not with standing further investigation revealed that he did not set the fire that led to their death. -> However, further investigations were carried out, proclaiming that Cameron was innocent of his murdering accusation. From this example, we can see dead warrants can also create tragedies. ->Obviously/ Clearly, execution without apparent proofs and sensible decisions from the courts would consequently lead to numerous of unexpected and dangerous outcomes.

In conclusion, from my viewpoint, the death penalties shouldn’t be completely forbidden. It can only be used in just some serious cases, in which imprisonment can’t appease the sufferings of victims.
