It is obvious that social media such as Facebook, Twitter has become more and more popular in the modern world. There is a controversial point of view that the drawbacks of social networking in human life predominate its encounter part. I partially consent to this notion.

  First and foremost, Social networking sites are considered as an efficient communication tool connecting those who live far from each other. With its useful functions, social media allow users from different locations to text as well as make a video call to each other in a convenient and intermediate way.  In other words, no matter how long distance between person and person is, It is possible to exchange information digitally through internet devices rather than face to face communication which is challenging to a kilometer- far distance.

What’s more? Social platforms are also supposed to be a forum where people possessing a lot of things, for instance hometown, interests, in common concentrate to share knowledge, experiences as well as daily stories. Each single group is specialized in a particular aspect, thus the information and experience imparted are relevant to the members in group.  For example, the group named analyzing the psychology of criminals is an ideal community that allows individuals concerning criminals to exchange and confide in crime- related information.

On the other hand, some individuals take advantage of social media to get the personal information of others for illegal benefits such as purchasing it for the third object, exacting money from the victim, or getting money from the victim’s bank account. Additional, conveying misrepresenting information breaking the truth about individuals and organizations on social media also causes detrimental consequences. This kind of criminal is called a cyber criminal.

Moreover, it should not be forgotten that people are likely to be kind of addicted to these unreal social sites. Consuming too much time on such platforms and dipping themselves in imaginary  world leads to devastating effects to user’s physical and psychological health such as eye- related diseases and autism . According to medical experts, the children who contact with technology device  screen a lot tend to to get near sighted than ones do not. 

As such it can be concluded that social networking sites have not only benefits related to communication and sharing information but also handicaps about social evils and bad health.
