Since time immemorial, a vast majority of people have deemed happiness their ultimate aim in life. However, most of the time happiness is undefinable, and there is absolutely no universial formula to delight people.

To begin with, the difficulty in denoting happiness may be attributed to several reasons. For one thing, public opinion varies due to different career paths. For example, social workers like teachers and police measure their happiness based on their contribution to the community. In contrast, businessmen and office workers derive satisfaction from enormous success and abundant wealth. Moreover, it is irrefutable that human well-being varies at different stages of life. Students are contented with high scores since studying is their top priority, whereas senior citizens enjoy a healthy and stable life because usually only when people are aging do they treasure their health.

Nevertheless, despite its abstractness,  happiness might be achievable by following crucial principles. Firstly, it is essential that people maintain a not rich, but stable life. If a family struggles to get by every day, they absolutely lack time to find interest in other things. It is because survival needs must surely be met before someone leads a pleasant life. Secondly, the key factor to sheer bliss is not being baffled by social misconceptions. For instance, wealth is usually believed to be the prerequisite of happiness, yet recent cases have proven that money is not everything. It is up to individuals to beware of themselves so as to find the right joy.

In conclusion, owing to the varied opinions among age groups and career positions, it is impossible to give happiness a precise definition. However, various basic preconditions are still valid as means to gain satisfaction or contendment in life.
