In many countries all over the world, the situation in which inhabitants in large cities would rather live either on their own or in a small home than in extended family households seems more and more prevalent. This poses a question whether the trend will bring about positives or negatives. This essay will elaborate on both sides.

On the one hand, living in a small family unit is obviously advantageous to some extent. These days, young people appear to have fairly different viewpoints from their seniors. Consequently, they may live in constant variance with each other and contentions will absolutely arise. As living alone, youngsters can also enjoy the idea of making their own decisions without being influenced a lot by their elders. With this in mind, they can themselves experience a whole gamut of life, from failure to success, which is widely deemed beneficial as they are already well-equipped with invaluable life lessons. Older generations, in addition, seemingly favour a tranquil life in an unspoilt countryside, for instance, over a frantic one in bustling cities. Apparently, living in small families helps satisfy people’s preference in lifestyle.

In terms of negatives, younger generations may miss out a wealth of advantages from their elders’ precious experience. Furthermore, children in many nations are supposed to honour their filial duties when growing up. Whereas living in separately families seems to be as comfortable for both generations as aforementioned, children cannot conveniently take care of their parents, which results in the fact that elders might find extreme difficulties in looking after themselves or might possibly be sent to nursing homes. This will therefore place a heavy burden on government budget. Last but not least, centuries-old traditions and customs can be no longer sustained and potentially ignored over time. Spiritual values of a country will become gradually unknown, as a result.

In essence, I concur that the tendency towards nuclear families rather than extended ones does have some considerable benefits, but overall are outnumbered by the drawbacks.

While you're reading essay, I'm under the impression that you are a strong writer. However, I've found that there are inappropriacies in word choice in your essay. In other words, some words don't really fit into the given context or don't collolate with one another.
