In contrast, Portugese was least studied among the top six with 203 million native speakers and only 10 million people choosing it as an additonal language, a gap of 877 million people when compared to Mandarin Chinese learner numbers.
Furthermore, Hindi and Spanish respectively ranked the second and the third as the most worldwide spoken languages. The number of foreinge learners of the two languages, however, were much different with 70 million Spanish learners and 120 million Hindi learners. Besides, the most remarkable figures belonged to English with the number of non-native speakers (603 million) was higher than that of native speakers (339 million), following by Arabic total number of speakers which included 203 native Arabic and only 24 foreign learners.
