It is true that many universities and colleges these days offer distance learning programs instead of face-to-face courses. Despite some obvious disadvantages of this trend, I believe that there are outweighed by the advantages.
On the one hand, there are two major drawbacks when students deliver education by distance learning.  Firstly, one should fulfill the basic requirements with a computer and the access to the Internet, which may be an extra burden for a beginner. Any malfunctioning software or hardware can bring an ongoing class to a standstill and interrupt the learning process, so if a student is not a computer and tech-savvy, his learning experience can be dissatisfactory. Secondly, disadvantages of distance learning occur at a basic human level. Responsibility and self-discipline are crucial factors in the success or failure of a distance learning program. Slack study habits go unchecked without the presence of an influential person like a classroom instructor or professor. For example, a pupil who does not  understand a problem or subject inside class can ask for help, whereas in the case of virtual learning, it is impossible to work in groups with other students, or to have a physical access to libraries, educational exhibits, gadgets, and sometimes gropes for answers without guidance.
On the other hand, I believe that the benefits are more significant than such disadvantages. One reason for this view is that the new approach to education encourages children to flexibly broaden their knowledge, which is possible in fun ways through interactive software with valued materials. That is, students can learn based on their time, and there are no specific classroom studies or extra-curricular activities, so they can choose a course at any time and complete it when they wish to do the same.  In fact, a major chunk of students who actually choose distance education is those who do not want to give up their jobs but want a higher education. Another reason is that the fee of a distance education degree (online or otherwise) may be much more affordable than the fee of a regular on-campus degree because e-learning allows students to keep a job and attend school at the same time. For instance, online students can continue working at their full-time jobs and bringing back home the same paycheck that they were bringing before starting their distance education, ensuring that their education does not cause any major financial upheavals in their life.
In conclusion, I would argue that the advantages of this modern trend are more significant than the disadvantages.

On the one hand, there are two major drawbacks when students deliver education by distance learning.  Firstly, one should fulfill the => omit that basic requirements with a computer and the => omit that access to the Internet, which may be an extra burden for a beginner. Any malfunctioning software or hardware can bring an ongoing class to a standstill and interrupt the learning process, so if a student is not a computer and tech-savvy => tech-savvy person, his learning experience can be dissatisfactory. Secondly, disadvantages of distance learning occur at a basic human level. Responsibility and self-discipline are crucial factors in the success or failure of a distance learning program. Slack study habits go unchecked without the presence of an influential person like a classroom instructor or professor. On the other hand, I believe that the benefits are more significant than such==> aforemetioned disadvantages. One reason for this view is that the  => omit that new approach to education encourages children to flexibly broaden their knowledge, which is possible in fun ways through interactive software with valued  => valuable materials. That is, students can learn based on their time, and there are no specific classroom studies or extra-curricular activities, so they can choose a course at any time and complete it when they wish to do the same.  In fact, a major chunk of students who actually choose distance education is those who do not want to give up their jobs but want a higher education. Another reason is that the fee of a distance education degree (online or otherwise) may be much more affordable than the fee of a regular on-campus degree because e-learning allows students to keep a job and attend school ==> course at the same time. For instance, online students can continue working at their full-time jobs and bringing back home the same paycheck that they were bringing before starting their distance education, ensuring that their education does not cause any major financial upheavals in their life.
