Over the past few years, our society has seen an increasing trend of advertisments, and this has lead the public to many different views. However, it could be argured that the trend contributes to both benefits and drawbacks.

On the one hand, there is no denying that adverts bring a lot of advantages to the general public. To begin with, advertisments inform customers about the selections they have, thus they are able to make comparison the differences between products and ultimately decide what is suitable for them. Therefore, it can be said that without adverts buyers would have less choice. In addition to this, as a key part of modern bussiness, advertisings enable companies to increase sales, and therefore it is greatly beneficial to economic growth. For instance, by offering promotion, ads widens the market, which in turn creates job as well as raises the living standards. The more comercials there are, the less severe the unemployment situation rises.

On the other hand, growing adverts lead people to live in a consumer culture that might be out of realiaty. It is widely known that advertisments are extremely persuasive because companies usually use glamorous  people such as models, sports stars to attract their customers to follow the latest trends. Therefore, buyers might spend a lot of money on what they do not really need. Besides this, children can be easily influenced by advertisings, for advertisers often aim their marketing at them. As a result, children put too much presure on their parents to buy them things. My nephew, as an example, sometimes irritates his parents by asking them give him whatever interesting he sees on television commercial.

In conclusion, the upsurge trend of advertisments brings not only positive effects on society, but nagative impacts as well.
