The bar chart illustrates the amount of time spent by men and women weekly on various activities around their home. It is clearly seen that except for reading, men spend almost time on leisure activities while women spend more time on household chores.
In terms of household chores, women spend 15 hours per week on cooking that is higher compared to approximately 9 hours for men. Women also spend more than twice amount of time than men on cleaning the house. Again, washing up is a task undertaken mostly by women rather than men, at 7 and 5 hours respectively.
Watching TV is the most popular leisure activity for both sexes with a slight difference in the average time spent by each. In contrast, men spend nearly three times more time than women surfing the internet. The time spent for gardening and reading is just the same for men and women with rough 5 and 2 respectively.
